What we do

Where we work

Independent and lifestyle hotels run on two engines: a contracted group base that fills the calendar on purpose, and transient demand booked direct, at rates that hold. Evoques builds both — group sales that contract ahead, and the direct strength that stops intermediary commissions from deciding your margin. Every booking an intermediary owns is a guest you rent back at commission — and a relationship someone else keeps.

We work with hotels across North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, the Mediterranean and Türkiye, the Middle East, and the Far East. The pressure differs by market. The leak is the same everywhere: demand that never gets captured, answered, or booked direct.

Where We Work

North America

Our home market — and the first leak is documented: a European MICE-platform benchmark found that 26% of group inquiries never receive an answer at all. Unanswered demand never becomes revenue, and it never even reaches the forecast. We run the full program here: health check first, then the group base and direct strength built together.

Latin America & the Caribbean

Business in this region runs on conversation. WhatsApp is the front door for travel service and booking — for the big airlines and for independent hotels alike. Our posture matches how the market works: remote engagements, conversation-first, and every inquiry captured through the same health-check intake used everywhere — with Spanish and Portuguese pages rolling out as the localized build lands.

Western Europe

Mostly family-owned, mostly independent — around three-quarters of Europe's hotels. The distribution squeeze here is measured, not anecdotal: direct bookings are 51.3% of European hotel bookings and falling — down about 6 points since 2013 — while OTAs take 29.9%, and 51% of hotels report their rates being undercut by OTAs. Only about a quarter of European hotels use AI at all, even as AI becomes how guests find them. Our posture: remote delivery, both engines — a group base under the year, and transient booked direct at rates that hold. The work is to win back direct share while the group base holds the calendar.

The Mediterranean & Türkiye

The most seasonal business we cover. In Greece, 42% of the entire year's tourism nights land in July and August alone. Türkiye's group calendar runs the other way — April to June and September to November are the windows groups actually book. A group base contracted into the shoulder season is what flattens that curve. Our posture: remote engagements, with shoulder-season group base as the core work in this cluster.

The Middle East — UAE & Egypt

The story here is supply, and it points forward: roughly 126,000 additional hotel rooms are scheduled to open across the Gulf by 2030 — a 25% increase. New rooms do not arrive with a group base attached; it has to be built before opening day, not after. Our posture: we serve owners in the UAE and Egypt remotely, starting with the same health check as every other market. Arabic pages follow native review — never machine translation.

The Far East

Hotels here are found inside local platforms, not on Google — Baidu holds about 62% of search in China, Korea searches inside Naver's own ecosystem, and Japan books through category-led portals. Translated pages do not surface in any of them, and we won't pretend otherwise. Our posture is honest presence: the door is open, every inquiry is captured and answered, and deep local-platform work is a separate conversation when a hotel wants it.

This is the direct booking channel, built for the hotel. Demand found in your market, captured on ground you control, answered by a real person — and booked directly between your hotel and its guest. The inquiry, the relationship, the data and the rebooking stay with the hotel. The alternative is the OTA model: renting your own demand back, and keeping none of the relationship.

Why does direct booking matter for an independent hotel?

Because whoever owns the booking owns the relationship. When a booking arrives through an intermediary, the inquiry, the guest's details and the next booking belong to the intermediary — and the margin goes with them; in Europe, 51% of hotels report OTAs undercutting their own direct rates (HOTREC, 2026). When the booking comes direct, the hotel keeps the guest, the data and the rebooking. Evoques builds that channel on purpose: a contracted group base, and transient demand booked direct at rates that hold.

How can an independent hotel get more group bookings without a sales team?

By treating group business as something contracted ahead, not something that arrives on its own. Evoques builds that contracted base for independent and lifestyle hotels — and every engagement starts with a free health check.

What happens to group inquiries that never get answered?

They never become revenue. A European MICE-platform benchmark found that 26% of group inquiries receive no answer at all — which is why the health check's Revenue Leak Audit looks for that leak first.
